Delegate without losing quality
Clear handoffs, the right level of check-ins, and the patience to let people grow into the work.
For first-time managers in tech
Leadership coaching for women in tech stepping into their first manager role. Less second-guessing, more calm confidence.
Sound familiar?
None of this means you were the wrong pick. Nobody teaches the jump from great engineer to good manager. That's the part we work on together.
What changes in 3 months
Clear handoffs, the right level of check-ins, and the patience to let people grow into the work.
A simple structure for real conversations about growth, blockers and feedback, in both directions.
Say the important thing early and briefly, and hold your ground when a director pushes back.
How it works
We work on what's on your calendar: the reorg, the underperformer, the skip-level next Tuesday. Not on theory.
You tell me where you are and what feels hardest. I tell you honestly whether coaching will help.
We pick the 2–3 leadership habits that will change the most for you, and set how you'll know it's working.
A session every two weeks. In between, you try things with your team and message me on Slack when something comes up.
About me
I was a backend engineer for seven years, then got promoted to lead a team of six. I spent my first year as a manager doing everyone's code reviews at midnight.
I went on to run engineering teams of 40 at two SaaS companies. Since 2021 I coach women in their first manager role, because I remember exactly how lonely that first year felt.
Maya
From past clients
By week six I stopped rewriting my team's PRs. I got my evenings back, and two of my engineers got promoted.
My 1:1s used to be status updates. Now people bring their own agenda, and I hear about problems weeks earlier.
I presented our roadmap to the VP without my hands shaking. Maya helped me prepare it like an engineer: one claim, three facts.

Questions
Often, yes. Most tech companies have a learning budget, and leadership coaching is one of the easiest things to get approved. I'll give you an invoice and a short program outline to send to your manager.
It's one hour every two weeks. The goal is to give you time back: most clients say delegation alone frees up several hours a week by the second month.
A course teaches general frameworks. Here we work on your team, your manager and the conversation you're dreading this week, and adjust as you go.
Twenty minutes on video. You share what's hard right now, I ask a few questions and suggest one thing to try. If the program fits, I'll explain it. If not, I'll say so.
Almost every client says this on the first call. Someone promoted you for good reasons. Coaching helps you see them too.
